Community Programs
The Good Shepherd Preschool builds relationships, communicates and cooperates with businesses in the Missoula area interested in the wellbeing of children in our community. Below are a few programs that have been instrumental in our community:
Missoula Alliance Church
Missoula 3:16is a ministry to the homeless and hurting in Missoula, Montana. Each year we work with our families to collect food for Missoula 3:16 and the families that they serve.
Missoula County Public Library holds a free weekly story time and activity for the children in our community. The Library always welcomes the families of The Good Shepherd for tours and to check out books that add to our school’s literacy program.

Historical Museum at Fort Missoula offers a wide variety of programs for both adults and children. Programs include workshops, family events, Girl Scout Badge Days, lectures, and more. Theme days and festivals, like the annual Independence Day Celebration and Forestry Day are also presented every year. The Education Department has education trunks available for checkout or as outreach. Tours can be scheduled throughout the year.
Missoula Children’s Theater fosters creativity and enhances innate capabilities in individuals all over the world by providing access to community-driven performing arts experiences. MCT strives to transcend any barriers such as language, culture, financial resources, and unique needs, to transform lives by actively engaging people in the arts. Their mission is the development of life skills in children through participation in the performing arts.
National Association for the Education of Young Children | NAEYC
A professional organization which promotes excellence in early childhood education. One staff person from The Good Shepherd Preschool sits on the local board. The Good Shepherd Preschool staff attends local trainings regularly and brings back information to other staff. The Good Shepherd Preschool staff is a small part of a large network that helps families get information about resources and referrals in the community.
