The Good Shepherd Preschool is a nationally accredited (NAEYC), independent center whose mission is to encourage a child’s sense of wonder in a safe, nurturing, supportive environment. The children in our care are given the tools needed to ask questions about their world, develop resiliency, delight in their relationships and environment, to wonder, to create and to explore.  

 

We believe play is a child’s work.  We believe children are complex individuals who are capable of amazing things.  We believe children need secure relationships with their adult caregivers to thrive.  We believe children need adults to help keep them safe while they are exploring, discovering, and creating.  We believe adults can also learn from children.  Our teachers are co-learners with our students.  We believe children need guidance as they express themselves and that they express themselves in many different ways.  We believe in nurturing the whole child: 

their intellect, their spiritual soul, their inner compass. 

 

We believe in loving a child as God created them for his work is purposeful.  We believe our purpose on Earth is to love one another as told to us by Jesus Christ.  Through Him we explore God’s amazing creation together.   We believe all living things should be treated with respect.  The Fruits of the Spirit are our guiding principles: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
